A Tribute Campaign: Certified Senior Bloggista

I was invited by Jen to join this tribute campaign for Senior Bloggista tagged as A Tribute Campaign: Certified Senior Bloggista. After sitting in my draft for almost a month I decided to push the publish button, ganun katagal? 😀

When I was teaching HTML and Internet subjects, I thought of creating my first website para may maipakita ako sa mga stude ko. Kung ano ang ipinapagawa ko sa mga stude ko, ganun din ginagawa ko sa site na yun.   My first website was hosted by Angelfire.com. It contains 1 page lang naman, syempre everything you want to know about me, mga favorite at kung anu-ano pa. Basta parang slumbook ang dating haha. May ilang pictures at poems din doon.

Few weeks and months later, nadag-dagan na yung mga pages, meron na ring guestbook na pinanghihinayangan ko kasi nagclose na yung free guestbook site, di ko man lang nakopya yung laman, sayang walang ibidins. Malay ko bang magko-close sila.

I used my angelfire.com/mt/Amor website until July 2003 kasi nakabili na ako ng sariling domain at hosting noong August 2003, kaya ni-redirect ko na lang yung site dito.

Eto may nahalungkat pa akong picture sa aking lumang bahay. Iisa lang halos ang picture na ginamit hehe. With matching frames pa.

I started blogging officially on August 2006 simula ng makilala ko si WordPress.

I post once or twice a month then. Ngayon iba na, I get to update once a week at the very least. Huwag lang siguro magloko pc ko. Kailan kaya ako makakapag post ng once or twice a day? Hmm, malabo ata yun, mas malabo pa sa Ilog Pasig at Manila Bay.

I am blogging about anything that interests me, anything under the sun or should I say “under the moon” because I blog mostly at night, hehe.

If I would be asked who were the senior bloggers I met on my blogging journey (journey daw!) the first 2 persons that I can think of are Marlene and Glenn.

I met Marlene in 2005 when she signed in my old guestbook, since then, I would visit her site whenever I have the chance.

I also met Glenn in 2005, he also signed in my old guestbook commenting that I have lots of spam, haha. Then I learned that we’re from the same hosting company (before).

I also met a lot of bloggers in 2007 specially in 2008. Newbie and senior bloggers that I admire and look up to. My blogging life would have not been complete had I not ‘met’ my blogger friends – Marlene, Glenn, Jessie, Nilo, Diwata,  Ate Beng, Reyna Elena, Bluepanjeet, Ate Kap, Kuya Roy, Ambo, Pusa, Malen, Pandacan1011,  Melody, Joy, Shanker, Luis, Snow and You.

    • Opo Kap, pero dati pa yun, 100 years ago? Nagturo ako sa ACSAT-Baliuag ng 2 years lang nmn. Tutor? Sige po, ask/email nyo na lang ako if you have question. Hindi nmn ako masyadong magaling at techy, nagpapanggap lang. 😀

    Nagulat na lang ako nagawa mong i-convert sa wordpress ung static page mo, it means html coder ka tlaga.

    • Thank you Glenn, syempre extra ka talaga jan, hehe. Oo matagal na nga rin itong doamin, mag 6 years na rin pala. May bago akong domain pero di ko pa naaayos.

    • senior ka jan! 😀 ewan ko kung madalas akong makakapag update siguro gaya pa rin ng dati, once or twice a week.

  6. Oh my! You teach HTML and internet subjects? Wow. No wonder you’re such an expert when it comes to web design. Hilig ko rin yan e so I had to learn this whole blogging thing on my own with help of my bestfriend Google. Hehehe.

    Sensya na now lang nakadaan ulit here. Super busy sa office e. Musta na po?

    • hindi nman expert, konti lang din alam ko. Best friend ko rin si Google, kaya pag may kailangan ako sya pinupuntahan ko. 😀

      Okay lang, last time akong bumisita sa site mo mga more than 1 month na, offline pa yata noon. I’m glad okay na sya ulit now.

  7. the feeling is mutual kapatid. Had I not met you and some of the names you mentioned above, I think my blogging career would end in oblivion. Alam mo sabi nga nila, sometimes you meet significant people in the oddest of all places.

    Like you nagsimula din ako sa angelfire nung 2003. But only made a decision to create my own website in 2007. Wala ako alam noon sa html or sa computer. I just spent my free time discovering lots of things especially photoshop which is so beneficial when creating a website. Kudos to all newbies and veteran bloggers alike
