My Web Design Resources

These are my resources in designing my website.

WordPress – I installed WordPress last year when I decided to have a blog. Since I already have an existing template, I searched for some free wordpress themes and studied how they were made. I then integrated/incorporated my homepage template into wordpress theme to maintain a consistent look.

EasyPhp – I use this program to test my php driven website to work under Windows.

Winsyntax – a free PHP-code editor. I like it better than Notepad since it has text highlighting, multi-window tabbed interface and multiple history of undo and redo.

Adobe Photoshop – all the graphics you see here were all edited/created using Adobe Photoshop.

CSSplay – This is one of the best CSS resources for me. Since this version is my first time to make a table-less design, I googled for CSS tutorials and examples, which led me to CSSplay. This is where I got the idea for the three column layout and the box style.

A List Apart – lots of articles and tutorials to read about web design, web content, web standards, codes, scripts, etc.

Glish CSS Layout Techniques – provides many examples of cross-browser CSS layout techniques, also contains links to various online CSS resources and tutorials.

WDG Guide to Cascading Style Sheets Web Design Group’s ultimate guide to CSS, features a CSS quick tutorial, CSS properties, rules and structures and other CSS references.

PHP Resources, Tutorials and Script – Annotated links to PHP tutorials, articles, resources, manual and other PHP tools.

PHP.Net – Everything about PHP, tutorials, online manual, resources, sample scripts and links to some PHP-related sites.

Filezilla – I am currently using this free FTP software to upload files in my server.

Philhosting.Net – My current webhost.

W3C Markup Validation Service – This is where I check this website for html/xhtml errors

XML SiteMaps Generator – Free online sitemap generator in 4 simple steps.
