My Quest to Lose Weight

My New Year’s Resolution is to lose weight. We’ll I never experienced being thin. I’m kinda heavy, my dress size when I was younger was Medium to Large. But now I’m already obese.

My Body Mass Index is 31 so I have to start kicking off this fat or else I might have serious medical conditions that have been linked to obesity, like type 2 diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, and stroke. My family have a history of all those diseases so I really have to act now before it’s too late. My last Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS) test was normal, but that was taken last June, and I’m not as obese then as I am now.

I also feel unattractive, I can’t find anything to wear. When I shopped for clothes last Christmas, I bought an Extra-Large size blouse because the Large one doesn’t fit me anymore. Some even mistook me for being pregnant.. haha!

I really want to lose weight, so starting today, I will eat less and have regular exercise. I won’t eat too much chocolate and other sugar-laden foods. I won’t drink carbonated drinks like Coke and Pepsi, won’t eat french fries from Jollibee or McDonalds. I will drink Green Tea, research says that it has L-Carnitine which is perfect for dieting since it burns fats, increases energy, metabolizes food into energy, improves resistance to muscle fatigue. It also lessens the feelings of hunger and weakness.

I will not eat anything after 6:00 in the evening. If ever I feel hungry I’ll just zip a cup of green tea.

  1. I think weight loss is all about three things – attitude, diet and exercise. From my experience, reducing carb intake and doing aerobic exercises are keys to successful weight loss.
