Thanks to Recovery Console

I’ve been computer-less for 5 straight days. Imagine my dismay when I can’t open my PC last week. Nasira na naman itong jurassic PC ko. It won’t boot up for reasons I don’t know!
I used Recovery Console, and copied the System Restore Registry files to the Windows’ config folder. I was brave to do that, having-been-there-done-that many times before. But what the heck, it didn’t work on my first and second try. The PC still hangs, I’m trapped on Last Known Good Configuration and Start Windows Normally choices. Whatever I choose, PC still hangs. Kainis! Until it won’t boot up na nga. PC only beeps at start up… puro long beeps! Then I gave up. I didn’t open it for few days sa inis ko.
I was determined to have a fresh install of Windows XP, but thought of using the Recovery Console again. This time I used other technique a little shortcut. And thanks God! It worked! Whew! I didn’t lose any files whatsoever. I will blog about it one of these days. For now I have to sleep na muna. Thanks to all who visited me. Will visit your blog when I get online ulit most probably tomorrow, that is, kung hindi na naman masira ang pc ko, haha!

Fren,
I had several experiences like this since March. My two units (PC and laptop) broke down. It must have been due to the extreme heat from March-early May kaya nagkaganun. I actually bought an aircon just to cool down my units.

Hahaha! Well, I’ve been through a lot too! There was a time when I had to reformat my entire hard drive because I had to replace my motherboard!

Thanks Marlene, Jessie and JB! I was about to give up na talaga and reformat my hard drive last week. Buti na nga lang when I tried Recovery Console again, eh gumana na sya, bumalik sa dati as if nothing happened. That’s what I love about Recovery Console and I’m so thankful talaga.
